Corporation of the Township of Malahide

April 17, 2001

Malahide Township Council met at the above time with all members present.  Mr. Gary Blazak the Township Planner was also in attendance.

Final changes to the Urban Area maps were completed as per the request of Council.  This resulted in final growth projection of 225 short term lots and 1200 long term lots.  The new Hamlet configurations on the revised maps were noted.

Two policy: one for “infilling” and the other for the “Ontario Police College” were reviewed and accepted.

Council felt they were ready to proceed to a public meeting.  A date of June 14, 2001, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. was set.

Council felt the property owners around the hamlets needed to be advised regarding their property.  It was agreed to send them a notice.  The maps were to be put on the internet as well as a Notice in the local paper.

If a Notice was to be sent out for a change in the garbage pick-up service, additional notice regarding the OPA was to be included.

Changes to property at Lot 34, Concession 6 were considered.  The Planner was directed to incorporate the provisions requested.

A name change to an urban area was considered.  Council were to look into an alternative name to “Pikes Peak”.

The Planner was advised a name change would be forthcoming.  The CAO was to try and have Mr. Underhill come for 7:00 p.m. on April 19, 2001.
